Company will invest USD1 billion to set up a new plant that will begin production of Nikola One hydrogen electric semi-truck in 2021

Nikola has selected a site in Buckeye, Arizona (United States) for its new plant to produce hydrogen-electric semi-trucks, the company said in a press release on 30 January. The company will invest more than USD1 billion in the new plant, which will spread over 1 million square feet, by 2024. The investment is expected to create over 2,000 jobs in the region. The plant’s construction is scheduled to begin by the end of 2019 and truck production is expected to begin in 2021.
