Agreement paves way for sale of Takata’s non-inflator business to Key Safety Systems

A group of 13 automakers, excluding Honda, have agreed to contribute USD130 million to compensate those injured by defective airbag inflators supplied by Takata as part of a deal to resolve the Japanese supplier’s bankruptcy, Reuters reported earlier this week citing a US plaintiffs’ attorney. The agreement paves the way for sale of Takata’s assets, other than inflators, to Key Safety Systems. The deal was announced last year.
