Should Broadcom succeed in acquiring Qualcomm, the deal will not only make the US-based company one of the biggest semiconductor manufacturers in the world, only behind companies such as Samsung and Intel, it will also provide it with a lot of complementary technologies to tap opportunities in the automotive market.
