Magnesium has been on the radar of automotive industries for a long time as a suitable material for light weighting. It inherently offers a weight reduction of more than 75% when compared to steel and more than 33% compared to aluminum. It has good ductility, superior noise and vibration dampening characteristics and excellent cast ability. By using die casting, there are many possibilities to integrate components, for instance, in the instrument panel carriers and steering wheels
