More OEMs adopt Faurecia’s ‘NAFILean’ lightweight, hemp-based biomaterials

NAFILean biomaterials now used in car parts of six OEMs

A growing number of original equipment manufacturers (OEM) are adopting Faurecia’s ‘NAFILean’ lightweight hemp-based biomaterials, underlining its contribution in lowering fuel consumption and CO2 emission, the French supplier said in a press release last week. After its first adoption by PSA Group, auto parts made using the innovative biomaterials are now used by as many as six OEMs. Most recently, Chinese electric vehicle (EV) start-up Byton decided to use parts made of NAFILean biomaterials in its first electric SUV.
