DeNA, Kanagawa Taxi Association launch ride-hailing app in Japan
New app is expected to help the association deal with the challenge of labor shortage in Kanagawa Prefecture
Japanese mobile and gaming company DeNA and Kanagawa Taxi Association jointly launched a ride-hailing app called Taxi Bell in Japan on Thursday (19 April), reports the Japan Times. The app, which can be used only in Kanagawa Prefecture, supports matching of customer with taxis thanks to an improved platform and an artificial intelligence (AI)-based system. Taxi Bell is currently used in 3,000 vehicles in Kanagawa Prefecture. However, the two partners hope to eventually expand its service across the country.
