Intel powers Android-based infotainment system in Volvo Cars
New ‘Android P’ operating system powers Swedish carmaker’s next-generation infotainment system
Google has unveiled the latest version of Android operating system, running Google applications, at the Google I/O conference this week in Mount View, California (United States). According to a press release by Intel on 8 May, the new Android P operating system is powered by the chipmaker’s Atom automotive system-on-chip (SOC). Volvo is showcasing its next-generation infotainment system, based on Android P, in a prototype XC40 at the Google I/O conference.
