HERE unveils OTA technology for connected and autonomous vehicles
New technology ensures secured transfer of data, software and firmware between the cloud and vehicle
HERE has launched a new over-the-air (OTA) technology for connected and automated vehicles, the company said in a press release on 23 May. The technology, called ‘HERE OTA Connect’, ensures secured transfer of data, software and firmware between the cloud and a vehicle for updating and enhancing vehicle functions. HERE said that since its OTA Connect is an open-source solution and is designed to integrate into the automaker’s backend, it can be offered to automotive customers globally. The company’s solution is agnostic in terms of how updates are transmitted, which will be determined by at the customer.
