NTSB releases preliminary report on Uber self-driving test vehicle crash in Arizona

Uber closed self-driving testing program in Arizona this week

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States’ government has released its preliminary report on the fatal crash in Tempe, Arizona on 18 March involving a self-driving test vehicle operated by Uber. According to a press release by NTSB, the test vehicle, a modified Volvo XC90 SUV, occupied by one vehicle operator, was operating with a self-driving system in computer control mode when the accident happened, killing a pedestrian, who was crossing the road. The vehicle operator was not injured in the accident.
