Continental, Vodafone to jointly develop smart vehicle connectivity solutions
Two companies plan to develop a digital shield for pedestrians and a traffic jam warning system
Continental and Vodafone have entered a partnership to improve safety and reduce accidents on German roads through smart vehicle connectivity solutions, the Germany-based company announced in a press release yesterday, ahead of the CeBIT 2018, starting today in Hanover, Germany. The two companies plan to jointly develop a digital shield for pedestrians and a traffic jam warning system. The solutions will be implemented with 5G network and cellular-vehicle to everything (C-V2X) communication. Continental and Vodafone are already collaborating on application scenarios at Vodafone’s 5G Mobility Lab in Aldenhoven, Germany.
