Ford partners with Postmates to test self-driving vehicles in delivery service
US automaker conducted similar tests in partnership with Domino’s Pizza
Ford has teamed up with delivery start-up Postmates to pilot test self-driving vehicles in delivery service in Miami and Miami Beach, Florida (the United States), according to a blog posted yesterday (11 June) on Medium by Alexandra Ford English of Ford Autonomous Vehicle Business Team. According to English, the research vehicle—Ford Transit Connect van—for the pilot is designed to look like a self-driving vehicle, but are manually driven by drivers. The pilot test is participated by more than 70 companies, including popular local restaurant Coyo Taco.
