Renesas Q2 net income up 36.5% y/y to USD446.5 million

Company’s adjusts nine-month financial guidance

Renesas has reported 36.5% year-over-year (y/y) increase in net income to JPY26.1 billion (USD235.8 million) for the second quarter ended 30 June 2018, the Japan-based semiconductor company said in a press release today (31 July). Sales increased 3.1% y/y to JPY203.5 billion. The company’s semiconductors sales increased 2.9% y/y to JPY199.1 billion and accounted for 97.8% of the company’s total sales. Renesas reported operating income of JPY33.9 billion, up 4.9% y/y, resulting in operating margin of 16.7%.
