Yokohama Rubber develops technology for producing isoprene from biomass
Isoprene is used in production of synthetic rubber, which is a raw material used in tires
Yokohama Rubber, in partnership with Japanese research institute RIKEN and materials supplier Zeon Corp, has developed “the world’s first technology” capable of producing isoprene from a biomass efficiently, according to a company press release on 26 July.
