Japanese supplier plans to make its Nagoya Work plant in Aichi Prefecture new production hub for EV components

Japanese supplier Meidensha Corporation (Meiden) plans to invest JPY7 billion (USD63 million) to expand three facilities in Japan to produce components for electric vehicles (EV), the company said in a press release on 31 July. The company has selected its Nagoya Work plant in Aichi Prefecture as the new production hub for EV components. Meiden will upgrade existing buildings at the plant and construct new production lines to produce inverter-integrated motors for EVs. The company will start construction at Nagoya Works plant in January 2019. The upgraded plant is expected to begin operation by November 2019.
