Toyota, Isuzu agree to dissolve capital ties; continue collaboration on joint product development

Two automakers entered strategic partnership in 2006

Toyota and Isuzu have agreed to dissolve their capital ties, the two automakers announced in a press release on 3 August. With this, Toyota has disclosed its intention to sell its entire 5.89% stake in Isuzu in the future. However, the two automakers plan to continue collaboration on projects related to joint development of basic technologies. In addition, Toyota and Isuzu will remain open to the possibility of future collaboration.
