General Motors (GM) integrates ExxonMobil’ Speedpass+ app in vehicles through Marketplace platform
Automaker earlier partnered with Shell for in-dash fuel payment in April this year
GM has integrated ExxonMobil’s Speedpass+ in-dash fuel payment app in its vehicles through its Marketplace platform, ExxonMobil said in a press release on 7 August. The app will allow drivers of eligible GM vehicles to make payment for fuels at Exxon and Mobile fuel stations through vehicle’s touchscreen without swapping their credit cards or using their mobile wallets. According to GM, the feature will be initially available in Buick brand vehicles, such as Regal, LaCrosse, Envision, Enclave and Encore models. After Buick models, GM plans to expand this offering to vehicles sold under its other brands, including Chevrolet.
