Car-sharing firm Getaround raises USD300 million in new funding

Company plans to use additional fund to further grow its business, enter new markets in North America and elsewhere

Getaround, a US-based company specializing in peer-to-peer car-sharing, has raised USD300 million in its Series D funding round, the company said in a press release on 20 August. SoftBank led the company’s latest funding round, which was participated by Toyota and other existing investors. Getaround plans to use the additional fund to further grow its business and enter new markets in North America and around the world. The company will also use the fund to develop mobility partnerships, launch new products, improve operational efficiencies and continue innovating its connected car technology.
