NXP acquires automotive Ethernet specialist OmniPHY
Acquisition positions NXP to deliver next-generation data transfer solutions in connected and autonomous vehicles
NXP has acquired US-based OmniPHY Semiconductor for an undisclosed amount, the Netherlands-based company said in a press release on 3 September. OmniPHY specializes in automotive Ethernet subsystem that enables high-speed data transfer required for autonomous driving. With the OmniPHY acquisition, NXP will be better-positioned to deliver the next-generation of data transfer solutions to carmakers.
