Fraunhofer opens new project center for lightweight automotive construction in Poland
Center will also work on modelling and simulation of structures and process, and recycling and remanufacturing
Earlier this month, the Germany-based Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU entered a partnership to open a project center for lightweight automotive construction at Opole University of Technology in Poland, according to a press release by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft. The project center, called Fraunhofer Project Center for Advanced Lightweight Technologies (ALighT), will focus on developing new manufacturing processes, new design ideas and pricing strategies to produce lightweight hybrid components. The research center will also work on modelling and simulation of structures and process, and recycling and remanufacturing.
