Bosch, SiTime collaborate to provide timing solution for 5G, IOT and automotive applications
SiTime has relied on Bosch for supplying MEMS resonators since 2009
Bosch has announced a partnership with US-based SiTime Corporation to accelerate innovation in micro-electric-mechanical systems (MEMS) timing, the two companies said in a joint press release earlier this month. Through the partnership, the two companies plan to develop processes for next-generation MEMS resonator products, which are vital for 5G, internet of things (IOT) and automotive electronics. The new resonators will enable the higher speeds of 5G, long battery life of IOT devices and increased reliability of driver-assistance systems in vehicles. Bosch will leverage its expertise in MEMS manufacturing to produce these resonators for SiTime and ensure availability of high volume capability.
