Novelis breaks ground to expand automotive aluminium plant in China

US-based company to invest USD180 million to expand production capacity by 100,000 metric tons

On 10 October, Novelis broke ground to begin an expansion project at its automotive aluminium plant in Changzhou, China, the US-based company said in a press release. The company plans to invest USD180 million to double the production capacity of heat-treated aluminium sheet at the plant by 100,000 metric tons to meet an expected surge in demand in Asia. The expansion, scheduled to be completed in 2020, is expected to create 160 jobs.
