SAIC Volkswagen starts construction of new plant for EVs in China
Plant will start production in 2020 and will annual capacity of 300,000 vehicles
SAIC Volkswagen, a joint venture (JV) between German automaker Volkswagen (VW) and Chinese company SAIC, has started construction of a new plant in Anting, China for manufacturing electric cars and battery systems based on VW’s Modular Electric Drive Kit (MEB), the company announced in a press release on 19 October.
