'The New Mobility in Israel' project is scheduled to start early next year

The Volkswagen (VW) Group has partnered with Mobileye and Champion Motors to deploy autonomous vehicles in a ride-hailing service in Israel early 2019, the German automaker said in a press release on 29 October. While VW will provide its electric vehicles (EVs) and its knowledge in design and deployment of mobility services for the project called “New Mobility in Israel’’, Mobileye will offer its SAE Level 4 kit which includes hardware, driving policy, safety software and map data. Champion Motors, an importer of several VW brand vehicles in Israel, will be responsible for fleet logistics and infrastructure of the mobility-as-s-service (MAAS) deployment and scaling. Together, the three partners will add the mobility platform and services, content and other MAAS tools for seamless ride experience.
