Qualcomm teams up with automakers to showcase LTE-V2X direct communication interoperability in China
With commercial readiness for RSUs, onboard units and vehicle integration, China is well positioned to demonstrate leadership in C-V2X as early as next year
Qualcomm has joined forces with automakers such as Audi China, BAIC, Changan, Geely, Great Wall and others as well as with intelligent transportation service (ITS) software stack providers Genvict, Nebula Link and Savari for the first live demonstration of LTE-V2X direct communication interoperability during the SAE China Congress Exhibition (SAECCE) event in Shanghai this week (6-8 November), the US-based chipmaker said in a press release on 5 November. The demonstration will utilize passenger cars—provided by these automakers—equipped with LTE-V2X technology using Qualcomm’s 9150 C-V2X chipset solution to show benefits of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications.
