TDK, Aito to jointly develop new haptic solutions for automotive applications

The jointly developed solutions will be based on TDK’s portfolio of piezo actuators with haptic feedback and Aito’s HapticTouch control solution

TDK Electronics, a subsidiary of TDK Corporation, has joined forces with the Netherlands-based Aito for the development and supply of touch response solution for automotive applications, the two companies said in separate press releases last week. The jointly developed solutions will be based on TDK’s portfolio of piezo actuators with haptic feedback and Aito’s HapticTouch control solution. The combined haptic solutions of TDK and Aito is expected to enable a natural and intuitive interaction of electronics devices, including control and operations of infotainment systems, climate controls, steering wheel mounted controls and touch-based gear shifters in vehicles.
