Further improvement of thermal management solutions will be significant for enabling efficient cabin air conditioning and increasing driving range of electric vehicles

The advent of electrified vehicles (EV) is bringing about massive changes in the value chain of automotive supplier industry, especially in the powertrain segment. With an electric motor and battery pack powering the vehicle, and no combustion engine to support the cabin heating and cooling functions in a pure EV, the solutions required to keep the powertrain in optimum operating temperatures, and passengers comfortable, also require a complete revamp. Like every change, this too has brought about opportunities and challenges for automotive thermal management solution suppliers.
