Yokohama establishes basic technology for high-strength adhesive
Japanese supplier to apply new technology for development of automotive body structures
Yokohama Rubber has established a basic technology for a two-component urethane adhesive with high strength and high elasticity, the Japan-based company said in a press release on 27 December. In the new technology, Yokohama Rubber claims to have achieved maximum tensile strength of 20 to 40 Mpa, comparable to the strength of epoxy-based adhesive, and high elasticity compared to urethane adhesives with a maximum elongation of 200% to 500%.
