Texas allowed testing of autonomous vehicles on its roads in 2017

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has announced plans to create a Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) Taskforce that will become a central point for CAV development in Texas, United States, TxDOT said in a press release on 22 January. The new taskforce will be a one-stop resource for information and coordination on all ongoing CAV projects, investments and initiative in the Texas. It will promote efforts by public and private entities in the field of CAV and host industry forums and report lesson learned to facilitate progress and encourage greater collaboration.
