Ford recalls 3,500 Ranger pickups over wiring issue

In affected vehicles, the PRNDL bezel wiring may interfere with the shifter interlock override, preventing the shifter from locking in the park position and allow the driver to shift the transmission out of park

Ford has issued recalled for the select model year (MY) 2019 Ranger pick-up trucks to verify shifter interlock functionality, the automaker said in a press release on 6 February. The recall affects around 3,500 vehicles in North America, including 3,000 in the United States and 500 in Canada. The affected vehicles were built at Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant in the United States between 4 June 2018 to 9 Jan 2019.
