Japan, EU support UN’s draft regulation on advanced emergency braking systems

Draft regulation lays down strict and harmonized requirements for AEBS at speeds up to 60 kilometers per hour

Forty countries, including Japan and the European Union (EU), have agreed on a draft United Nation (UN) regulation for advanced emergency braking systems (AEBS) for new cars and light commercial vehicles from 2020, the United Nation Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) said in a press release on 12 February.
