Shell acquires German EV charger company sonnen

The acquisition will accelerate the two companies’ ability to offer integrated energy services and EV charging solutions

Shell has reached an agreement to acquire Germany-based energy storage and solution provider sonnen, the company said in a press release on 15 February. Sonnen specializes in smart energy storage to customers and delivers digital energy services via its sonnenCommunity platform. According to Shell, the acquisition will accelerate the two companies’ ability to offer integrated energy services and electric vehicle charging solutions.
