HERE establishes new AI research center in Vienna

Company plans to invest USD28 million in new center over five years

HERE Technologies has established a new artificial intelligence (AI) research center in Vienna (Austria), the company said in a press release on 14 February. The Institute for Advanced Research in Artificial Intelligence (IARAI) will conduct research in the field of machine learning that will deepen the location intelligence needed to build autonomous vehicles ecosystem. HERE plans to invest more than EUR25 million (USD28 million) in the new center over a period of five years. The company will cooperate closely with the center through providing its dataset and expertise.
