Volkswagen (VW) announces progress on strategic partnership with Microsoft
Two partners agree to extend ‘Volkswagen Automotive Cloud’ to China and United States
Volkswagen (VW) and Microsoft have shared progress on their joint development of the ‘Volkswagen Automotive Cloud’, a dedicated cloud solution for managing all future VW digital services and mobility offering, the automaker said in a press release on 27 February. VW and Microsoft, who had initially decided to build ‘Volkswagen Automotive Cloud’ mainly for the European market, have agreed to extend the scope of the solution to China and the United States as well. According to VW, ID. will be the first vehicle to use the Volkswagen Automotive Cloud in Europe in 2020. VW will also start production of ID. family in China next year and the United States in 2022.
