Rohde Island in US starts autonomous vehicle testing project

RIDOT entered a public-private partnership with May Mobility to start a self-driving shuttle service in Providence last year

Last month, Rhode Island (RI) in the United States started an autonomous vehicle testing project, according to a press release by RI.gov. The project is being conducted by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT), as part of its Rhode Island Transportation Innovation Partnership (TRIP). The initial phase of the trials has already been conducted on the low-volume roads at the Quonset Business Park in North Kingstown, as a part of a pilot to be launched in the city of Providence in Spring this year.
