Honda to recall 1.1 million vehicles in US to replace Takata supplied replacement airbag inflators
Vehicles affected by the latest recall were previously repaired using Takata’s desiccated replacement inflators (PSDI-5D)
Honda will recall 1.1 million Acura and Honda vehicles in the United States to replace a specific Takata supplied replacement driver front airbag inflators, the Japanese automaker said in a press release on 12 March. According to Honda, vehicles affected by the latest recall were previously repaired using Takata’s desiccated replacement inflators (PSDI-5D) or entire replacement airbag modules containing these inflators, neither subject to recall at that time. The company said its dealers will make the repairs free of charge.
