Hyundai introduces smartphone-based EV performance control technology
New technology allows EV drivers to adjust seven key performance features
Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) has introduced a smartphone-based electric vehicle (EV) performance control technology, which allows drivers to customize their EV performance through a smartphone app, the South Korean automaker said in a press release today (22 April). Drivers can use the technology, called “smartphone-electric vehicle pairing based performance adjustment technology” to adjust seven key EV performance features, including the acceleration and deceleration, regenerative braking capacity, maximum speed limit, maximum torque output of the motor, responsiveness and energy use on climate control. HMG will implement the new technology in new EVs by both Hyundai and Kia.
