Velodyne, Nikon enter agreement for mass production of lidar sensors

Nikon’s subsidiary will start production of Velodyne lidars in the second half of this year

Velodyne has reached an agreement with Nikon Corporation for mass production of its lidar sensors, the company said in a press release on 25 April. Under the agreement, Sendai Nikon Corporation, a subsidiary of Nikon, will produce lidar sensors for Velodyne, in the second half of 2019.
