New BMW 1-Series features Digital Key, Intelligent Personal Assistant
Next-gen car also comes equipped with several advanced driver assistance systems
BMW has equipped its all-new 1-Series with several advanced connectivity solutions including Digital Key and Intelligent Personal Assistant, the company said in a press release on 27 May. Available as an option, the BMW Digital Key enables users to lock and unlock the vehicle from a smartphone using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. The Digital Key also supports start of the vehicle’s engine as soon as phone is placed in the smartphone tray or wireless charging tray. According to BMW, the Digital Key can be shared with up to five other people.
