Project aims to share traffic safety data generated by cars and infrastructure to improve road safety

Volvo Cars has joined forces with other automakers, service providers and national governments for a pan-European pilot project that aims to share traffic safety data generated by cars and infrastructure to improve road safety, the Swedish carmaker said in a press release on 3 June. Under the project, called “European Data Taskforce”, partners will share anonymized data or safety services based on that data with the pilot via a cloud-based platform. Among automakers, other members of the European Data Taskforce are BMW and Mercedes-Benz and Ford.
