Fraunhofer Institute researchers developing combined camera and radar module for autonomous driving
‘KameRad’ project partners are working to develop a fail-safe sensor system designed to provide all-round protection in automated vehicles
The Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration IZM has partnered with automotive companies (AVL, Jabil Optics, John Deere, InnoSenT, Silicon Radar) and research institutes (Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems FOKUS, DCAITI) to develop a camera radar module that can capture changes in traffic conditions faster, Fraunhofer said in a press release on 3 June.
