New law to become effective from 1 July

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has signed a bill that will allow companies to test their self-driving cars without backup drivers, according to a press release by the governor office last week. The CS/HB 311 bill will also permit a self-driving car or a fully autonomous car equipped with teleoperation system to operate without a human operator present physically in the vehicle when teleoperation system is engaged. With the signing of the CS/HB 311 by the state governor, the bill is now set to become effective as a law effective from 1 July.
