SVOLT unveils cobalt-free lithium-ion battery cell (NMx), four-element lithium-ion battery cell (NCMA)
Plans to invest USD2.2 billion in a 24GWh battery factory in Europe
SVOLT Energy Technology has unveiled cobalt-free lithium-ion battery cell (NMx) and four-element lithium-ion battery cell (NCMA), Chinese battery start-up said in a press release on 13 July. According to Yang Hongxin, general manager of SVOLT, the NMx competes with the NCM811 cell in performance. The new battery cell reduces cost of materials by 5% to 15% and the cell bill of material (BOM) cost by around 5%.
