IBM Japan joins Automotive Edge Computing Consortium
AECC is working to develop an ecosystem for connected cars to support emerging services such as intelligent driving, the creation of map with real-time data, and driving assistance solutions based on cloud computing
IBM Japan has joined the Automotive Edge Computing consortium (AECC), a non-profit consortium of cross industry players focusing on developing connected car technologies using big data, AECC said in a press release on 23 July. As a member of AECC, IBM Japan will collaborate with other member of the consortium to evaluate work being done by communication, cloud and other related technology-based standards body and technology communities to ensure that the new technologies and standards will meet the future needs of the connected vehicle ecosystem.
