First automaker to charge for using Apple CarPlay connectivity features

BMW is all set to start charging a subscription fee for Apple CarPlay connectivity feature in its vehicles, beginning with model year 2019 vehicles in the United States, Car and Driver reported on 23 July. According to an update on the BMW’s ConnectedDrive website, the company will charge USD80 for one-year subscription. The customer can also opt for USD300 for 20 years subscription.
