MIT develops data-driven safety envelope for EV batteries
The study was limited to one type of battery cell — large-format secondary pouch cell with NMC cathode and graphite anode
Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), along with a colleague from Tsinghua University, have developed a safety envelope for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles (EV), news website Green Car Congress reported on 26 August citing the journal Joule, where the study was published.
