NGK Spark Plug’s Q1 net income drops 29% y/y to USD90.8 million
Automotive components sales down 2.1% y/y
NGK Spark Plug’s net income declined 29% year-over-year (y/y) to JPY9.8 billion (USD90.8 million) in the first quarter ended 30 June 2019, the Japan-based company said in a press release. Sales were up marginally, by 1.5% y/y, to JPY108.5 billion. Despite higher net sales, NGK recorded 18.4% y/y drop in operating income to JPY15.5 billion.
