Toyota develops TNGA platform for small cars
Japanese automaker’s latest GA-B platform will be used for vehicles smaller than those based on the GA-C platform
Toyota has introduced its new GA-B platform for compact vehicles under its Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA), the Japanese automaker said in a press release on 5 September. The new platform is designed to maximize interior space through effectively using smart packaging to deliver a spacious and comfortable interior. It positions the driver’s seat low and back towards the center of the car, helping to reduce the vehicle’s center of gravity. This, Toyota claims, creates and engaging driving position with a steering wheel that can be set close to the driver at an optimized angle.
