Daimler to source battery cells from Farasis Energy
Farasis is constructing a battery cell plant in Germany
Daimler has reached an agreement to source battery cells for its electric vehicles (EV) from Chinese supplier Farasis Energy, Reuters reported on 10 September. Farasis is currently building a battery cell factory in Bitterfeld-Wolfen, in Saxony-Anhalt region, Germany, to help the automaker ramp up its vehicle electrification plan. The Chinese supplier is investing EUR600 million (USD662.5 million) in its upcoming plant in Germany and first outside China. The plant, with initial production capacity of GWh, is expected to start operations next year.
