Veoneer wins contract to supply thermal cameras for Level 4 autonomous vehicles
Swedish supplier will begin production of thermal cameras in 2021
Veoneer has secured a contract from a premier carmaker to supply thermal cameras for a Level 4 autonomous vehicle, the company said in a press release on 17 September. The highly autonomous driving system will use multiple high-resolution cameras to enhance the detection of pedestrians, animals, vehicles, motorcycles, bicyclists and objects to compliment the capabilities of other sensors technologies. Veoneer will begin production of thermal cameras in 2021.
