New lidar costs only hundreds of dollars each, thanks to its deployment of MEMS micro-mirror scanning structure and simplified manufacturing and streamlines production

Last week, RoboSense unveiled the production version of its RS-LiDAR-M1 solid state lidar sensor for autonomous driving applications, the company said in a press release on 27 September. The lidar start-up also entered a partnership with Chinese automaker FAW Group to supply its new lidar sensors. FAW will include RoboSense’s RS-LiDAR-M1 as core component into its proprietary autonomous driving system development. This is expected to accelerate the series production of RoboSense’s lidar sensor.
